Municipal Court Warrants in Dallam County
Dalhart and Texline Municipal Courts hear city ordinance and Class C traffic matters and can issue their own process. A city FTA or capias pro fine may not appear on a sheriff page, and no public Dallam countywide list was found. The municipal court that holds the citation is the first place to confirm a city warrant.
These courts are distinct from the countywide JP and the 69th District Court. The sheriff can serve countywide warrants, but it does not replace the city clerk or judge for a payment, reset, or recall decision.
Dallam County Municipal Warrants Stay Local
A city-court case starts with its own citation, complaint, ordinance matter, or court setting. If an FTA process issues, the judge and municipal clerk keep the case record; a city peace officer or marshal may serve the warrant under Texas law. The county sheriff may assist or receive process, but no local source says that it hosts a complete city-warrant list.
The practical mistake is treating a county search, jail call, or online balance as a city-court answer. Call the named city court about status and resolution. Use law enforcement for service or custody routing only after the issuing court confirms what is required.
Dallam County Municipal Court Warrants by City
Two qualifying incorporated places in the research have municipal courts: Dalhart and Texline. The countywide JP handles fine-only matters outside those city-court routes. The table shows the published local contact information and case type; it does not claim a public warrant list exists.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Dalhart | Dalhart City Court | City ordinances, Class C traffic, citations, and warrant contact |
| Texline | Texline Municipal Court | City ordinances, Class C traffic, and case or ticket matters |
Dallam County JP Is Separate From Municipal Warrant Courts
Dallam has one countywide Justice of the Peace rather than a separate public precinct list. The JP handles fine-only criminal misdemeanors and traffic matters. A ticket issued by a county agency may belong there even if the driver lives in Dalhart or Texline. Read the court line on the ticket before choosing a portal.
The official Texas Municipal League directory identifies Texline as a Type A general-law municipality and lists its municipal judge and city contact. That directory describes the town's government; it is not a warrant database.
Texline's municipal directory entry confirms the city contact and court role.
Use the court named on the case, even when the same official appears in another court directory.
How to Check a Dallam County Municipal Court Warrant
Use the city citation portal as a first case lookup, then contact the clerk or court by phone when the result is unclear or shows a warrant. Dalhart City Court publishes a direct contact and warns some warrant cases cannot be paid online. Texline publishes a case portal and city number but no warrant-specific recall route.
- Choose the city printed on the citation and open that municipality's official case search.
- For Dalhart, use a citation, license, plate, name, or business route; for Texline, use last name with a ticket/case number or birth date.
- Call the municipal court if a warrant flag appears, payment is blocked, or no result matches the citation.
- If phone contact does not answer, ask for the approved records or appearance route before walking in.
Dallam County Municipal Portals Have Different Warrant Fields
Dalhart's portal has separate citation, driver-license, vehicle, personal-name, and business-name routes. Some personal searches require birth date; one sensitive identifier route exists, but users should choose a less-sensitive valid path when possible. The page does not show a complete result schema or warrant-status code key.
Texline's portal is narrower: last name plus ticket or case number, or last name plus date of birth. It does not state whether those fields are required, how often results refresh, or whether a search clears a warrant. The city lists a voice payment number separately from its main phone.
What a Dallam County Municipal Court Warrant Shows
Neither city's public portal documents a complete warrant-result layout. A court can confirm the case number, citation or ordinance, issuing city, process label, issue or return date, fine or bond, and status. No Dallam municipal warrant-number format or public sample record was located.
| Case identifier | Ask the court for its cause, citation, or process number. |
|---|---|
| Offense | City ordinance, Class C traffic, or other municipal case matter. |
| Issuer | Dalhart City Court or Texline Municipal Court, depending on the citation. |
| Fine / bond | Case-specific amount and terms; no local warrant schedule is published. |
| Status | Ask if pending, active, served, returned, recalled, paid, or cleared. |
Dallam County Municipal Warrant Service Differs by City
Chapter 45A authorizes municipal peace officers to serve city-court process. The sheriff's countywide service role does not make the sheriff the city court clerk. The court records the case and decides whether to recall a warrant; police or a marshal may carry out service. No local source located a separate Texline warrant desk or a citywide consolidated list.
Dalhart Police lists a current address on Liberal Street, while an older open-records PDF uses Rock Island Avenue. Use the current police directory for records contact and use City Court for a municipal warrant. Texline's DPS agency entry establishes a reporting footprint, not a published warrant roster.
Resolving a Dallam County Municipal Court Warrant
Call the city court first. Ask whether the record is a pending ticket, initial FTA warrant, capias pro fine, unpaid judgment, or another hold. Dalhart says a warrant may make a case ineligible for online payment. Texline does not publish a warrant-specific recall form. Neither city provides a promise of same-day clearing or a public bond amount.
- Ask the court for the case number, warrant label, amount, and required appearance.
- Ask whether payment, personal appearance, bond, hardship hearing, plan, or another method is allowed.
- Follow the court's instructions and keep the receipt, new setting, or signed recall order.
- Confirm that the court recorded the status change and sent any needed notice to another system.
Warning: A city portal balance or payment screen does not prove recall. Confirm the court's instruction and written status before treating the matter as resolved.
Dallam County Municipal Warrant Access Has Limits
Chapter 552 applies to many city police records, but municipal court records can follow court-access rules. Executed arrest warrants and supporting affidavits have public-access provisions under Article 15.26; juvenile warrant records are restricted under Family Code Chapter 58. Ask the court for the rule if a record is withheld or redacted.
A written police request is not the same as a court warrant lookup. Dalhart has a separate police open-records form for incident, dispatch, or arrest records; current warrant status belongs with City Court. For Texline, confirm the current law-enforcement records contact because no dedicated public form was located.
Use the Dalhart city record route or Texline city record route for local portal details.
